As part of the project course "Sustainability in M&A: Project Cases", organized this semester by Siemens GBS PS, the Professorship for Managerial Accounting at the LMU Munich School of Management, and the Chair of Management Accounting and Control at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, participating student teams presented the results of their projects at Siemens in Munich.
The presentations focused on key documents and critical issues in the evaluation of an acquisition target. Students worked extensively with the documentation, analyses, and decision-making frameworks that underpin such transactions. Particular emphasis was placed on how sustainability considerations can be integrated into due diligence, valuation, and responsible investment decision-making. The subsequent discussions provided valuable insights into the practical challenges of M&A transactions and highlighted the importance of bringing together financial, strategic, and sustainability perspectives.
The seminar once again demonstrated the value of close collaboration between academia and industry. By applying theoretical concepts to a realistic project setting, students gained a deeper understanding of M&A processes and the growing importance of sustainability in transaction-related decision-making.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Siemens GBS PS for hosting the final presentations in Munich and for the valuable exchange throughout the seminar.
